Wednesday's Wardrobe: Vacation Wear

If I'm keeping it real with you, most of last week I wore  a version of this:

Cute, right?  If filthy, sweaty and tired are now synonymous with cute.  Anyway, when we weren't hiking the dusty trail or climbing endless rock steps I did my best to clean up nice for my husband and our various dinner destinations.

In Tahoe, the atmosphere was definitely relaxed and the night air very chilly so I stuck to jeans for dinner.
Shirt/Jeans-Marshall's, Shoes - Nine West, Purse - Macy's, Necklace -  Gift from Mom, Bracelets - DIY

For our 5 hour drive to Yosemite on Monday I wanted to be comfortable, and for me summertime comfort = jersey dresses.  I threw a tank, hat and this dress on for our drive.  All was going well until we drove through Tioga Pass with its snow capped mountains, and then I looked (and felt) slightly ridiculous.  After rocking said outfit at many scenic vistas that required short, dusty walks I ditched the dress for running shorts on the Frederick Law Olmstead trail.

Tank - H&M, Dress - Aqua for Bloomingdale's, Fedora - Forever 21, Earrings - Filene's Basement, Bracelet - Provincetown, MA.

San Francisco was the only place I consistently wore real "outfits", unfortunately the weather threw a real monkey wrench in my planned attire.  Weather.com's predicted 78 degrees and sunny predictions somehow translated into mid-50's, fog/mist/low clouds for all but 3-4 hours a day.  Morale of the story: I was grossly under dressed and lived in my husband's grey fleece pullover.  When it warmed up a little, this is what I wore to ride cable cars, climb Coit Tower, stroll through Chinatown and eat chowder from sourdough bread bowls:
Vest - Old Navy, Grey T-shirt - Ann Taylor Loft, Jeans - J Brand, Flip flops - Kino, Necklace - Charming Charlies, Bracelets - Filene's Basement, Earrings - Chatham, MA, Purse - Gift from my Mother-in-Law.
And for walking through the Castro admiring houses and sunflowers, eating Ike's Sandwiches, strolling through Haight Ashbury and shopping my way back to the hotel:

Top - Ann Taylor Loft, Tank - Old Navy, Jeans -J Brand, Sandals - Macy's, Sunnies - Cole Haan, Bracelets -Gifts, Key Necklace - H&M, Purse - Gift from my Mother-in-Law

Check back Thursday for a recap of our time in Yosemite complete with some really amazing pictures!

That first picture made me giggle! I don't post many vacation pictures either because I look like a bum. You definitely made up for it with the rest of your outfits. I like your black/gray/yellow tank and the fedora.

Well, hello there! I've never been to Yosemite, but would love to someday. San Fransisco is one of my favorite places to visit and we've been many times (since family and friends are in the area). When traveling, comfort is key. I usually try to pack things that can be layered--it's the quickest way to change up basic looks and since I dress according to mood, picking out outfits ahead of time doesn't always work for me. I rather bring favorite items that I know will work together in various ways. You've managed to look great on your travels and I love your beautiful smile!

I love the hiking pic- you go girl! And the striped t-shirt is great, as is the fedora, heck as are all your vacay outfits! San Fran is on my vacation wish-list, I love California but have never made it to SF. Thanks for the follow- I'm now officially following as well :)

There's a fine line when it comes to being stylish and being comfortable on vacay. I usually end up going for comfy. You look super cute though!
