Wednesday's Wardrobe: Boots 3 Ways

I love tall boots and I would probably wear them year round if the weather permitted such a thing.  Since that is not a possibility 'round these parts, I eagerly await the time when I can reach for them once again.  That time came this weekend, as I headed out to Chicago where fall is in full swing.  I picked these boots up in Fort Collins, CO visiting my friend Jenn late last spring.  Since boot season was winding down when I nabbed these soft caramel wedge boots, I decided to pull them out this weekend when I knew I'd see Jenn and some cooler temperatures in Chicago.

I wore these boots first with a grey jersey dress ($9!!) and sweater vest I picked up at the Loft last week.  I wanted to try faur (faux fur) but I am not adventurous enough to go whole hog furry animal so this vest allowed me to embrace the trend without going so far outside my comfort zone. I wasn't planning on actually zipping this vest up ever...but it was cold. Forgive me! Comfort over chicness that day.
Vest/Dress - Ann Taylor Loft, Boots - Ft. Collins, CO, Boot Socks - Target, Bag - Mom's, Sunglasses - Cole Haan, Bangles - Gift and Ann Taylor Loft
I love jeans with boots; add a flowy top and you have my Fall wardrobe's holy trinity.  I knew it could be chilly in the Windy City so I wanted to take plenty of scarves with me, and this plaid one was begging to be packed.  I love how it brightens up this maroon silk top.

Scarf - Filene's Basement, Shirt - Ann Taylor Loft, Jeggings - Target,  Boots- Ft. Collins, CO., Bangles - Gift and Ann Taylor Loft, Earrings - Craft fair in MA.

This outfit screams Fall; orange and brown epitomize the season in my opinion.  I picked up this dress and sweater at Gap Outlet years ago and together they make for a perfectly work-appropriate outfit.  I added beaded earrings, a colorful necklace and a paisley scarf to spice and boho it up.

Dress/Sweater - Gap Outlet, Tank - Old Navy, Boots - Ft. Collins, CO. Scarf - Mom, Necklace - Gift from Key West, FL. , Earrings - Lia Sophia

While boots are one of my staples for the cooler seasons, what are some of yours?

Ohhhh Cara! I love all 3 girl! Those boots are fab. Beautiful caramel color! It's refreshing to see that color, because there is a plethora of black and chocolate brown out there. Sweet buckle at the top! The scarf is fab and girl you look good in fur. I would definitely incorporate more of that in your wardrobe chica. AND you look GREAT in orange!!! LOVE brown and orange together! You get an A+! :D

Love the boots! I've been searching for similar ones but can't get them anywhere around here. My calves are apparently way too big for boots. :/

YAY Cara!! I LOVE your 3 looks with the boots!! And aren't camel boots the most versatile?! Hope you had fun with your girlfriends!

And totally digging the first outfit with the vest and dress! The touch of faux fur is perfect, and you still look chic even if it is zipped all the way!

I like all 3 outfits, but I think I like the last one best. Orange and brown always make me think of fall too. That's awesome that you can wear your boots so many different ways. I like your "faur" vest too--even zipped up.

My fall staples are knee high boots (of course) and lots of V-neck sweaters.

Thanks, sweetpea :)! Yes, a statement coloured coat is always a win. Go for a royal blue or emerald green!

I've been feeling the knee boots lately, looking for the perfect tan pair.

I'm a big fat sucker for boots and yet I own only one pair. I don't entirely think I need more (though the itch to get more is always there) and you just showed me how to get the most out of what I have. That's why I love style blogging!
