Celebrate the Shoe: Days 5-8

Last week we started celebrating shoes when I realized that I have quite a few more pairs than the average woman.  Here is the latest installment featuring pairs 5-8 of my favorite shoes. You may notice, my heels are getting lower as I creep ever closer to the Boston Marathon (6 days!)  I have to rest my tootsies before the race so here are some of my favorite shorter heels and one pair of flats.

Pair 5: These nude pumps were a Marshall's find last year and I wear them at least once a week spring, summer, fall and winter.  I love their color, rounded toe and comfortable heel.  Last week I paired them with my sale of the century Diane Von Furstenberg floral silk skirt, a billowy shirt and my recently crafted necklace.

Pair 6: Many years ago I owned a pair of leopard flats that I wore into the ground and mourned when they got a hole too big to ignore. I was unable to replace them until I found these pumps last winter when leopard came back with a vengeance. I bought this reversible scarf at Nordstrom with a gift card a few months ago and decided to pair my leopard pieces together with a bold orange top and harem pants on a cool day last week.

Pair 7:  Don't you love when something you've had your eye on for months suddenly goes on super sale? I do, and that's exactly what happened with these ankle boots.  I scooped these up on Gilt Groupe one day over the winter for $40.  The sweater lining makes them surprisingly comfortable so I paired them with my favorite cozy sweater, holey jeans and printed tank.
Sweater/Tank - Old Navy, Jeans - Ann Taylor Loft, Booties - Plenty by Tracy Reese via Gilt Groupe,  Purse - Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses - Cole Haan, Earrings - Boston, Necklace - Gift from Mom

Pair 8: In my opinion, metallic shoes are a closet staple. They are like the mullet of shoes, business and party all in one look. I wore this mustard and grey look to work, dinner and a friend's birthday last Thursday.  Since my day was going to be super long I needed a comfortable shoe that wasn't a dud at the party that night. This pair did the job just swimmingly.

So I'm curious, are you a heels or flats girl? Or do you switch it up often?  I prefer heels but wear flats when I have long days. I sad to be heel-less currently but I'm trying to rest my Achilles, arches and toes before next Monday's foot torture.

Feel free to link up your favorite pair below! I love seeing fun shoes!

Fantastic shoes! I particularly like the leopard flats - great way to spice up an outfit. Hmm, I'm more of a heels girl (if wedges count as heels?)

GIRL! You are running a marathon? I admire you for that! I am trying to get my tail back into training for a half and so far... We're moving a bit slow! That is awesome and I will be thinking about ya this weekend when you're hauling. Love all the shoes! I too am a shoe fanatic... I think it comes with the territory of being female and girly. Love your stripe top with the sweater... Great styling! :) Keep in touch!

Cara! You look very pretty in the first outfit. That necklace turned out great. I also love the laid back vibe of your Day 7 outfit. The pattern peaking out and the shades of coral are delightful!

When I worked in a corporate environment, I only wore heels. Really high ones too (4+ inches). I felt like I needed a commanding presence in the office.

Now that I moved to California and work from home, I live in flats. They're a million times more comfy. I also lean towards round-toed ones.

Oh, I am a heels-at-work girl (so I can better see eye to eye with the men!) but definitely flats-at-home/on the weekend. Love your collection of flats - those leopard ones can come home with me any time!
