A Very Sweet Blog's Favorite Vacation

My friend Kim from A Very Sweet Blog is guest posting today about one of her favorite vacations.  Kim finds the coolest editorial spreads, fashion and beauty news and sweets reads to share with her readers everyday. She also is the queen of giveaways! Without further ado!

Hey Everybody! I'm Kim from A Very Sweet Blog! I would like to thank Cara for letting me guest post today. Have super fun on your vacation Cara! I surprised my mom for her birthday last year by taking her to Vegas. We went during the month of April, and it was still HOT! Pack lightweight clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, super comfortable shoes and constantly hydrate yourself with water. We flew from New Orleans to Vegas with a layover in Salt Lake City. Unbelievable, but we went from Warm (New Orleans) to COLD (Utah snow capped mountains) to Hot (Vegas). The keyword is layers! hahaha

We stayed at The Venetian Hotel & Resort which has an Italian theme! They have beautiful ceilings, gorgeous statues, lots of fountains, awesome flora and stunning paintings. Every room is a suite and they truly are spacious. The Venetian Hotel & Resort is a shopping mecca. There are hundreds of shops! So if you like to shop, this is definitely the place to stay. They also have an awesome Spa and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.
Take in a show! We attended Phantom of the Opera and The Blue Man Group. Both were really cool. I purchased VIP tickets so that we could take a tour of what goes on behind the scenes of The Phantom of the Opera. We got to meet the gentleman that played the phantom, visit the hair/makeup room, prop rooms and look at all the extraordinary costumes they use in the show flown in from Belgium.

Something Sweet! The food in Vegas is awesome and there are a wide variety of options. One of the places we stopped to eat was Serendipity 3 (next to Caesar's Palace). They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the portions are HUGE! Just take a look at this strawberry ice cream sundae! We never did finish it. And look at the cute sculpture sundae that's outside! Everything about this place is sweet!

Birthday Cake Time! Freed's Bakery in Las Vegas is awesome! I read all of these wonderful reviews about them, so I contacted them BEFORE our trip and explained I needed a birthday cake for my mom. Well guess what guys!?! They will deliver to your hotel! How convenient is that? It's the best tasting cake I ever had and it was awesome how they decorated it.

That was our trip! I invite you over to A Very Sweet Blog! I post a smorgasbord of different topics every day. I look forward to meeting you. :)
