Inspiration Monday: Lizzie Olsen

The gals over at Two Birds picked Elizabeth "Lizzie" Olsen for this week's inspiration, which is perfect since I finally saw her acclaimed performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene a few days ago.  Lizzie was quite good as 'M cubed' in the very disturbing movie about cult life.  You know what else she's quite good at?  Getting dressed; unlike her twin sisters who tend to gravitate towards over sized black sacks (just my opinion.) Here is Lizzie looking young and fresh, layering a cool vest over a printed dress and booties.

As a kid I LOVED vests; my mom made me several including one in a super sweet celestial fabric that I picked out. Obviously, I was super popular in elementary school.  Anyway, I wore the heck out of some vests in my younger years and thus did not have much to pull from for this look today. I sported my new denim jacket instead.  I paired it with an easy printed dress and my favorite nude sweater booties.

See how the other ladies were inspired by Lizzie's look this week over at Two Birds and make sure to check out Martha Marcy May Marlene.  It's an interesting movie.

Sweater booties?! How cute are those! I love the colour of your dress and I agree, I like Elizabeth's style much better than her sisters but she looks so much like them!

Cara, you look cute girl! Me lovin' your denim jacket! I saw it on Old Navy's website and was wondering how it looked on a real person. I've got to get it. HAHAHAHA LOL at you for rippin those pages out! I did that forever! I may rip a few, but not many anymore. I snap snap now! :D
Have a great week Cara!

I almost wore a jacket instead of a vest with my outfit yesterday too because it was a little chilly. Yes Elizabeth is a far better dresser than the Twins!

I love the print of your dress!

I was so confused by that movie, I just didn't understand what happened at the end/before the movie started! This is a super cute look, and I definitely rocked some vests in elementary school too. We were before our time!
