Wednesday's Wardrobe: Dance, Dance

I don't know about you, but I love to dance.  I am truly terrible at it. Think Elaine from Seinfeld bad, but I love me some dance time.  This past weekend's early birthday overnight to Atlantic City offered me the chance to slip on my dancing shoes, sport some sequins and rock out for a night.  I just love the opportunity to get dressed up, wear a smoky eye and carry a leopard clutch.

I wore this first look to run errands before the trip when it was unseasonably warm and humid.  I was cleaning out my closet when this hot pink skirt caught my eye.  I bought this awesome Ikat necklace off Etsy a few years back and its the perfect addition to even the most basic look.

Tank Top/Earrings - Filene's Basement, Skirt - Tommy Hilfiger, Necklace - Bandit and Thief, Flip Flops - Nantucket, MA

Get Ready AC, cause I'm gonna bust a move.

For dinner (mmm Buddakan) and dancing in Atlantic City, I wore sequins.  It felt like the right thing to do.  If I owned a fanny pack I probably would have sported that too. I like to have my hands free for my sweet dance moves (see above).  I'm kidding, well only about the fanny pack, but I did reach for a casino appropriate leopard clutch.  This bag jumped into my arms as I was checking out of DSW over the weekend.  I don't know how it happened, but the bag clearly chose me as its owner.  Who was I to deny it?

Sequin Tunic - Tahari, Leggings - Target, Shoes - Cole Haan via DSW, Clutch - DSW

Take a note from me, don't make new shoes your dancing shoes*
My husband wasn't able to go to AC with me last minute, so my gal Sini stepped in.  What a pal!   Here she is in her adorable print dress from Forever 21.  She wears prints better than anyone I know.  Love her $15 boots!

*Since I poorly choose new shoes for a night clomping around the casino and then dancing, Sini graciously switched shoes with me late night.  Unlike my heels, those boots were made for walkin!

I picked up these bright blue jeans at the Old Navy Columbus Day sale.  Like the pink skirt above I also found this pleated silk shirt while cleaning out my closet this weekend.  It's my version of a tuxedo shirt but belted and pleated.  I wore it with super spiky heels (ouchie post dance-party) and an early birthday fascinator.  Thanks Kelly!

Shirt - Marshalls??  Jeans - Old Navy, Shoes - L.A.M.B. via Ruelala, Pearls - Gift from parents, Fascinator - Gift from Kelly via Nordstrom

Apparently I didn't satisfy my dance craving completely so I'm brushing my shoulders off for you.  You're welcome.

Any other dance-happy readers out there, and if so, what do you wear when you step out?

HAHAHA Cara! Girl you are so much fun! Where do i start? Where do i start? Loving BOTH your pink skirt and pleated silk shirt! You know...I think those two items would look great together! Just a thought. I love dancing too, but it's usually me cutting up around the house and my partner is Mr. Clean. HAHAHA You my friend looked great! I love sequins and your outfit was so on point for hitting the dance floor. I love that your friend switched shoes with you. I need to find a friend with my SAME shoe size. HAHAHA Glad you had FUN in Atlantic City! I went to Vegas in April, but I've never been there. Have a great day! :D

I LOVE to dance! I used to dance all the time in college (I met my husband while dancing in a bar), but I don't have as many opportunities to dance now that I'm an adult. I usually have to wait until I go on vacation or get invited to a wedding.

I love your dancing outfit and that necklace from the first picture. I feel your pain about wearing new shoes for a night out--ouch!

You are adorable, Cara! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to dance, too. Sounds like you had fun, but it did not end well for your feet. The ikat necklace is so unique. The L.A.M.B. heels are amazing. And hot diggity dog, you look great in the sequin outfit.
