Sometimes even us fashion-obsessed gals have a hard time pulling together inspired looks on a daily basis. It's been a hectic week and when the going gets busy, the outfits get simple. I rely on tried and true pieces to build simple ensembles so I can get out the door quickly and on with my day. Here are a few easy-peasy looks from the past week:
I wore this to work on my casual day last week. I bought this shirt Thanksgiving weekend in Raleigh years ago at the most fantastic Dillards I've ever stepped foot in. I love the lace and sweet buttons down the front, as it feels sort of country-inspired. I wore it with boot cut jeans and my slowly but surely being broken in Frye loafers.

Shirt - Dillards, Tank/Jeans - Old Navy, Shoes - Frye via Bloomingdales, Necklace - Bridesmaid gift, Bracelets - Filene's Basement |
I went to an outdoor craft fair over the weekend. It was going to be very chilly so I layered on a cardigan and a felted hat to keep my wet head warm. (I refuse to dry/diffuse my hair until it gets below freezing...didn't I just tell you how lazy I am last post?) Despite my layers and my cape! I still froze my bippy off but had a lot of fun at the fair.

Cardigan/Belt-Marmalade in San Francisco, Printed top/Jeans - Ann Taylor Loft, Shoes - DSW, Hat - TJ Maxx, Bag - Colorado, Flower Pin - Forever 21 |
Post half-marathon I did NOT want to go to work on Monday because I was tired and everything hurt. A t-shirt +scarf+ flowy skirt+comfy flats = work appropriate sweats. Colored tights were my attempt at looking somewhat put together.
|
Tee - Ann Taylor Loft, Skirt - Old Navy, Tights - Gift, Shoes - Gap, Bag - Hype, gift, Scarf - Filene's Basement, Bracelets - Target |
I'm still feeling a bit drained from the weekend so I relied on another easy look for work today. Shirt dress, boots and a head scarf, easy as 1, 2, 3 items and out the door.

Shirt dress - Marshalls, Boots - Liz Claiborne via DSW, Scarf - Mom's, Belt - Diesel, Necklace - Gift |
For everyone celebrating on Thursday, I wish you a healthy and happy Thanksgiving full of delicious eats and wonderful moments with family and friends. I am thankful for many things this year including you sweet, thoughtful readers who make sharing a little bit of my life that much more fun and exciting! All the best; I hope to post a holiday wish list on Friday if I come out of my tryptophan-induced coma in time.

I love the outfit with the black hat and the mustard sweater!
I am so lazy about my hair too. I just mousse it and go most of the time. I love lace top and heeled loafers together. SO sweet. And those boots with that shirt dress? Beautiful!

OMG - loving all these styles. They look great on you. The orange bag is beautiful. Have a great thanksgiving.
I've always wanted to get a shirt dress and I've scoured my Marshalls COUNTLESS times but alas - never had luck. What brand is it by? I also really like your orange/cognac bag (kind of hard not to - it's my favorite color).
Have a great Thanksgiving!

So much outfit awesomeness I don't know where to begin! I love the white lacy top and the brightly coloured craft outfit. Haha I'm like you-I don't blow dry my hair until it starts to frost together in the cold like hair icicles!
so many cute outfits- I love those scarves!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my shearling-style boots. It's hard to live in a cold climate and find stylish footwear for winter, so those are a hit! I LOVE your craft hair outfit - the bright colours, the print and that big Carrie Bradshaw-esque flower! And I've been looking for a hat like that - the brim is the perfect width.
those purple tights are so wonderfully JAZZY!
p.s. i'm your blog's newest follower :)

Love the colorful, layered floral and mustard outfit. Very pretty, Cara! And for the opposite reason, the simple but well accessorized shirt dress look is also a stand out. Happy belated Thanksgiving!
I LOVE your fair outfit! It's so cute - the hat, the colors, your purse, and your smile! It's perfect for the fair! Those are gorgeous Liz Claiborne boots! And way to go on running a half-marathon! You're amazing!
