Wednesday's Wardrobe: Hot and Cold

Our weather has been all of the map, it's been like a game of hot and cold around here.   You remember that game, right?  Well this past week it has felt like the weatherman and I were entangled in a long game of hot and cold with him shouting "getting warmer" at me through the TV and me attempting to respond accordingly.  Here are a few my responses to Adam Caskey's (my local weatherman) calls over the past few days.

Adam says Frigid:  It was a beautiful day last weekend but it was not warm despite the bright sunshine.  I've worn this combination several times but had never captured a picture of it until now.  It is such an easy weekend look with the oversized striped jersey, ballet flats and military-inspired vest.  Crossbody bags are a must for busy weekends, hands free grocery shopping baby!
Shirt/Vest/Shoes - Old Navy, Jeans - J Brand, Purse - Marc by Marc Jacobs, Necklace - Eastern Market, Sunglasses -  Cole Haan

Adam says Luke Warm:  I really love these white wide-leg pants but they have a limited shelf life.  While I don't follow the no white before Memorial Day rule, I also don't think these are appropriate for winter wear.  (Un)fortunately they are fully lined aka difficult to wear for most of DC's blazing summer.  I paired them with a silk watercolor tee and my L.A.M.B. spiked heels for work.
Shirt - Nordstrom, Pants - Ann Taylor, Shoes - LAMB via Ruelala, Necklace- Filene's Basement, Bracelets - Ann Taylor Loft

Adam says Getting Warmer: The printed tank in this look is one of my summer favorites but it is not work appropriate. I added this purple puff-sleeved cardigan and full black skirt. These wedges are some of the most comfortable shoes I own, they are the perfect black summer shoe.
Sweater - Filene's Basement, Tank - Target, Skirt - Old Navy,  Wedges - BCBG,  Necklace - Gift

Do you let the weather dictate your outfit choice of the day or do you just layer up or down based on what the outside is doing?  It's almost the weekend! Have you entered my giveaway yet?

I love that first look! That military vest is so good. The weather here has been fickle at best as well. Today it is gloomy and humid. Meh! Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog!

amen! One day it's 90 degrees and the next day it's 60! Jeesh! I love the navy and olive together, and I'm jealous of your military vest - I've been looking for the perfect one :)

When I'm at work, I always layer up (even if it's 100 degrees outside)! The hospital always get so cold! And when I'm not at work, then I dress for the weather! Love all the outfits! And the first is so cute with the stripes, parka vest, and bright bag! :)

I do check the weather before I plan my outfits but it usually results in disaster (like wearing long white pants on a muddy, rainy day!) You look beautiful in jewel tones, I adore the 2nd top and the orange MJ bag is such a fun summer tote!

I TOTALLY dress for the weather, especially when I'm going out to the market or to the park! At work, I definitely dress in layers because it can be so unpredictable with the air conditioning and whatnot.

I really love that bright orange purse! It's so fun :)
