Wednesday's Wardrobe: Timeless

Is there anything more timeless than black and white together? I've been working on my fitness (spinning!) on Tuesday mornings so I'm short on time before work.  For me, putting black and white pieces together is a way to keep my look timeless when my time is limited.

This is my magical maxi dress.  It makes me feel much taller and slightly skinnier than I am.  It has an adorable crocheted back that I had to cover up for the office (you can see it here) but the knotted white dress shirt is almost as cute.  I attempted red lipstick but I obviously still need some work with it.
Scarf - Nordstrom Rack, Shirt - Old Navy, Dress - Marshall's,  Shoes - Target,  Bracelets - Target/Ann Taylor Loft/Gift, Lipstick - MAC Russian Red

The only thing that makes black and white more timeless is a few pleats! This shirt is a warm weather favorite,  matched with my new pleated skirt it was pleat-iful!  I added some patent peep toes, a hot pink belt and a pretty pleated headband to round out the look.
Headband - Nordstrom, Shirt - Filene's Basement, Skirt - Vince Camuto, Belt - Anne Klein, Shoes - Cole Haan, Bracelet/Earrings - Gifts

How do you maintain your timeless look on limited time?  Do you reach for a simple dress, basic trousers and a cardigan or a fun skirt/shirt combo?  I'd love to know!

I have a bunch of solid cardigans and wear printed tanks underneath. So simple and classic!

Love that headband by the way!

You are SO right with the timeless comment for the black and white paired together - it is actually one of my staple 'go to' "colour" combinations for work outfits (I say "colour" as there is really nothing that colourful about them! haha) You look fantastic here - love that you're doing Spin too I really want to start! P.s thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! This is a similar recipe to the one I use for the chocolate caramel slice I was telling you about...but be warned...its addictive! :)

Cara, I LOVE black and white outfits! They just look so easily put together and so crisp! I really WANT my own magical maxi! I can't believe it's from ON! The flowers in the bottom of the skirt portion are super cute!

I love this pleated skirt. And I think I need instructions on mastering a red lip too. I don't think I have the right tone of red for my skin color yet either.

I love the scarf! And I love the pop of pink in the 2nd outfit you added with the belt. I finally just bought a new pink belt today and I can't wait to wear it!
