Wednesday's Wardrobe: Summer Lilly Lovin'

Maybe it's my roots in New England, or my love of quirky patterns, bright colors and special details, or maybe something else feed my undying summer love of all things Lilly.  I don't consider myself to be very preppy in my style even though I sail a mean boat.  My love of Lilly Pulitzer stems from my youth when my mom and I would try to find "Lilly" in each of my dress prints.  We still hunt vintage Lilly in the same "find the name" way.  Needless to say, when the summer days turn hot and I long for days at my parent's summer house the Lilly comes out in full force.  Here are some of my favorite Lilly pieces.

Shirt - Marshall's, Tank - Old Navy, Shorts - Lilly Pulitzer, Shoes - Kino of Key West

Shirt - Ann Taylor Loft, Skirt - Lilly Pulitzer, Shoes - Nine West, Bag - Kate Spade, Earrings - loulou, Pin - gift

Dress - Lilly Pulitzer, Sweater - Marshall's, Shoes - Anthropologie, Earrings - Gift, Cuff - Banana Republic

Is there any clothing or designer that epitomizes summertime for you?!?  I would love to hear!

Summer Top 10 List

With the official kick-off to the season this weekend, I'm starting to get excited for summer. I predict it will be bittersweet; it's our first free summer in more than 5 years and it's also our last one here in Maryland.  We have a few weekend trips to Cape Cod planned and one wedding but have so much free time to play with.  Here's a short list of things I would love to do this summer.

1) Go to a drive-in movie in Welfleet, MA.

2) Make lots of ice cream, gelato and popsicles.  This one is first on my list!

3) Attend an outdoor concert or music festival.

4) Knit myself this sweater.

5) Infuse vodka with something fun and have the girls over for homemade cocktails by the pool.

6) Finish sewing a skirt.

7) Perfect a delicious panzanella for easy weeknight dinners.

8) Jazz in the Garden.

9) Find a fun place to get away with my hunny for a few days.

10) Make lots of iced coffee and work through my stack of magazines on a blanket in the grass.
