Jane By Design Challenge 5: Day to Night

Burning the midnight oil in the last challenge got me into Challenge 5 and ever closer to the premiere of Jane By Design on ABC Family next Tuesday!  Because Jane is constantly on the move running errands for Gray and Donovan Decker she asked us to create a transitional look based on a white oxford button down shirt that could be worn to the office and then a night out with little fuss. As a gal who lives in the 'burbs but works and plays in the city, on Fridays I wear outfits that quickly move from the cubicle to the club.   For transitional outfits, accessories are the key to changing a base outfit that will take you from AM to PM.  For my base outfit, I paired my provided white oxford with a pleated leather skirt.

For the office, I paired the look with a leopard belt and pumps, and office appropriate jewelry; silver bracelets, black pearl earrings and necklace.  I carry bigger bags to the office for all my workday necessities (including my PM accessories), so I pulled in some color and pattern with this wool tartan  shoulder bag.
Shirt - Provided, Skirt - Free People, Belt- Betsey Johnson, Purse - Dooney&Burke, Earrings/Necklace/Top two bracelets - Gifts, Bottom Bracelet - Ann Taylor Loft, Shoes - Steve Madden

Before leaving the office I would change my accessories, by adding a studded waist-cinching belt, and a super tall pair of studded leather shoes.  I added some dangly earrings, a chunky statement necklace and leopard clutch.  I like small bags for evening, especially wrishttps://www.facebook.com/JaneByDesigntlets that can keep my hands free.  Add a red lip and second coat of mascara and away you go!

Shirt - Provided, Skirt- Free People, Belt - Betsey Johnson, Necklace - Charming Charlies, Earrings - Forever 21, Bracelets, Gift/Ann Taylor Loft, Shoes - Dani Black, Clutch - DSW

How do you transition from work to play?  Share your own transitional looks here, or over on the Jane By Design Facebook page! Have a great weekend and New Year's Eve, I'll be back to blogging (and blog reading) next week!

These outfits are polished and pretty! But I've never been able to find a white button-down shirt that's not inappropriately see-though. :(

Happy new year!

I absolutely love these looks- I often go from 'career to cocktails' so I can appreciate how accessories make the outfit! What a fun challenge and I hope you had a great New Year's Eve! :)
